Course description:This course is designed to teach participants how to write documents commonly used in business writing such as letters, memos, electronic messages, proposals and informal reports. Participants will learn how to make oral presentations use verbal and non-verbal forms of communication appropriate to the business environment.

Course description:
This course is designed to make participants aware of the rhetorical strategies used in various forms of written and oral business communication and enhance their ability to analyze and respond to the needs of different audiences including international audiences. The concepts of audience and purpose to design effective business documents, create and deliver effective multimedia presentations that incorporate visuals, and compose formal reports that incorporate primary and secondary research will be explored in this course. Editing to achieve professional tone, clarity, and fluency, and use grammar appropriate to the rhetorical situation will also be explored.

Course description:
This course is designed for beginning Spanish learners who wish to build their knowledge of everyday Spanish, both spoken and written, and stimulate interest in the culture and people of Spain and Latin America.

This course allows participants to study the facilities management range, offering the latest thinking in the profession. It confronts head on the practical problems encountered on the ground and offers real solutions. Issues such as the history of facilities management, the development, growth of the facilities management profession, defining facilities management, service delivery, intended for managers new to facilities management or those looking to broaden their understanding of professional facilities management practice.

Course description:
This course is designed for managers and supervisors who wish to understand how to safely and legally manage their employees. Human resource officers are expected to demonstrate leadership skills and plan and implement changes that are consistent with local employment law. Thus, personnel in this capacity should be competent enough to offer sound advice to senior management on basic legal issues without having to resort to a legal practitioner for that purpose. This course therefore facilitates the acquisition of those skills.

This course provides the basics for project managers by introducing essential project management concepts and methods. Through lecturers, discussion, in-class activities, group work, presentations, readings, the use of computers for MS Project and real world examples, participants learn how to identify project components, organize them effectively and control the project from the earliest steps of developing the project charter through the final steps of a project - documenting lessons learned.

Course description:
This QuickBooks course is designed to cover the fundamentals of using QuickBooks Pro to track the finances of a small business. Participants will learn how to set up a new company, work with lists, set up inventory, process invoices, work with bank accounts, process payments, enter and pay bills, and handle banking transactions. In addition, participants will learn how to customize forms and create reports.

It will emphasize the need for effective management of the business concentrating on personal commitment, financial management, and marketing and human resource management.

Course description:
This Course will expose participants to a variety of topics which will assist them in developing the skills to write winning grant proposals for submission to financiers. It will expose them to topics and proven techniques in developing and defining goals and objectives, preparing the cover letter and executive summary statement, developing the statement of problem or need, developing the methodology, developing the budget and outlining the monitoring and evaluation techniques/strategies. Participants will also be exposed to the typical assessment criteria financiers use when considering a proposal. Throughout the course, participants will have individual knowledge assessments and participate in proposal writing exercises as well as develop and write a proposal in groups.

This course allows participants to study the human resource factors that impact organizational effectiveness. Issues such as planning, staffing, training and development are examined for their effect on employee performance. Additionally, the effect of compensation packages and other employee benefits on employee productivity and morale will also be addressed.

Course description:
This course introduces participants to the general principles of Corporate Law. Participants will explore various types of companies, but will focus on features of limited liability companies incorporated under the Companies Act of The Bahamas, with occasional references and comparisons to legislation in other Commonwealth jurisdictions. This course examines the formation and management of companies, including the formalities for incorporation, share capital and share issue, duties of directors and winding up.

Course description:
This course is designed for persons interested in a career in counselling. The core content of the programme is an introduction to counselling theories and skills and is specifically designed to assist participants in identifying their own self awareness and understanding of the practice of counselling. The course is highly interactive with a mix of role-plays, group discussion, with individual and group exercises.

Course description:
This Advanced Introduction to Counselling Course augments the theoretical and practical aspects of Part One of Introduction to Counselling with more emphasis on the practical counselling segment. The AITC Course commences with a review of the first segment of Introduction to Counselling with emphasis on the goals, skills, stages of Counselling and the three main counselling theories: Person Centered Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling and Existential Counselling. Three more Counselling theories namely Group Counselling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy will be introduced, along with brief introduction of Vocational Counselling, Professional Issues, Developmental Psychology and Abnormal Psychology, to enhance the para-counsellors' self-development and intervention with clients.

Course description:
This continuing and professional education (CPE) programme in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management is comprised of 90 contact hours which are geared towards equipping individuals with the foundation knowledge, skills and competencies required to become a business owner or an entrepreneur. The programme seeks to provide theoretical as well as practical knowledge so that individuals have the best chance of success. The target group is anyone who has an interest in becoming a business owner/entrepreneur or a person who has already started a business but wishes to add to their skill set. Whilst this programme does not have any pre-requisites, participants are expected to have a genuine interest in starting their own business or expanding their knowledge of small business management and entrepreneurship.
